JPAL: Small Commitment, Big Impact—Using Cost-Effectiveness in Personal Philanthropy

Dr. Rachel Glennerster is the executive director of MIT's Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), a global network of professors who use Randomized Evaluations to figure out which poverty interventions actually work. She is also a founding member of Deworm the World, an organization that has treated 37 million children in Africa and India for parasitic worms. Dr. Glennerster's current research includes randomized evaluations of community-driven development in Sierra Leone, and empowerment of adolescent girls in Bangladesh.

Following Rachel's discussion the current members of High Impact Philanthropy will discuss leadership positions available within the organization. If you are interested in a leadership position, please try to make it to the event. If you cannot make the event but are still interested taking on a leadership role, please email us.
